ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology qualification has a strong common core ICT Diploma base and provides students with fundamental skills required in Information Technology industry in different areas like web design and multimedia, networking, core programming, databases, software testing, etc., and widens the opportunities to explore by serving the purpose of general skills in IT.

Course Structure

Actual Study Hours: Diploma of Information Technology (ICT50220) course structure is designed for 104 weeks (including 11 weeks holidays) and total scheduled contact hours are 1860 hours which is equivalent to 20 hours per week. You can also complete this qualification in lesser time than mentioned based on the study load you can manage.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

Entry Requirements

  • IELTS overall band of 6 or equivalent internationally recognised exam result in line with DIBP regulations
  • Successful completion of Senior Secondary certificate of education (Year 12) or equivalent qualification from student‚Äôs home country
  • Mature aged students will also be considered without the minimum education requirements but with relevant work experience within chosen area of study and a demonstrated capacity to meet course requirements.
  • Must be over the age of 18 years at the commencement of the course
  • Original or certified copies of all documents must be submitted with application
  • According to assessment levels for the country of origin, International Student who does not meet the English entry requirement is required to register in the appropriate English course. Further details for these requirements can be found at www.homeaffairs.gov.au

Cross Credit and RPL Process

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

The acknowledgment of skills and knowledge that have been gained through training, work, or life experiences into formal competencies. The assessment of RPL is made from the evidence provided against the units of competency (elements and performance criteria) as described in the relevant endorsed Training Package. To support this type of application evidence of where and how the skills were obtained are required. i.e. A certificate where the codes do not match bit are of similar skills and knowledge would require an ability to assess the learning the outcomes against the learning outcomes of the current course.


 

ASSESSMENT OF COURSE CREDIT/RPL APPLICATION IN THE DIPLOMA PROGRAMS

Some subjects have exam but most of the assessment methods include practical test, group works, SA, personal portfolios, presentations, log books, written assessment and case studies. Each subject has minimum of 2-3 assessments. If you have studied the same or equivalent subject as those taught by ITA, you can apply for credit for those subjects. Applicants with qualification of Cert III through to Cert IV in IT, are eligible to enter directly into ICT50115 as they fulfil the pre-requisite criteria. Students apply for RPL either prior to commencement or once on campus.
